Alizée, stage name of Alizée Jacotey, is a French singer whose career began in the early 2000s under the guidance of Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat. Launched with a strong image and production strategy, she became known worldwide for her debut album Gourmandises (2000) and the single Moi... Lolita, which reached number one on several charts and established her reputation across Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Her early success brought Alizée significant commercial recognition: Gourmandises went platinum within months of release and sold millions of copies internationally. Her second album, Mes courants électriques (2003), met with a positive reception and supported an extensive tour across France and neighboring countries.
Throughout her career, Alizée alternated between pauses and stylistic reinventions, exploring sounds from electronic pop to more independent approaches, as on Une enfant du siècle (2010).
