Carlos Eduardo Taddeo, known professionally as Eduardo, is a Brazilian rapper, songwriter, activist, lawyer, speaker and writer. He rose to prominence as the vocalist and principal lyricist of the group Facção Central, a collective he helped establish in the national rap scene whose work in the 1990s and 2000s exposed urban violence and the realities of peripheral communities. He remained with the group until 2013, when he announced his departure over personal and ideological differences. Born and raised in poverty and in environments marked by criminality, his personal experience strongly influenced the themes of his lyrics, which are characterized by social critique and denunciation. The censorship of Facção Central’s music videos helped raise the group’s national profile and established Eduardo as a representative voice of the favelas. After leaving Facção Central, he released solo work, including the double albums A Fantástica Fábrica de Cadáver (2014) and O Necrotério dos Vivos (2020). He has also published books in the series A Guerra Não Declarada na Visão de um Favelado and works as a speaker, visiting socio-educational institutions and encouraging education among marginalized youth. According to public sources, he graduated in Law and passed the OAB exam, completing a professional transition that combines artistic production, activism and legal practice.
