American actress Emma Kenney became known as a child for television roles. She rose to prominence portraying Debbie Gallagher on the drama series Shameless, a part she won at age ten that launched her in the U.S. television circuit.
In addition to Shameless, Kenney joined the cast of the Roseanne revival, playing Harris Conner-Healy in the show's tenth season. After the revival was canceled, she remained with the cast of the spin-off The Conners, continuing the same role for the series’ run.
Before achieving fame as an actress, Kenney took part in short films and TV movies; at nine she was a finalist at the New Jersey International Film Festival, becoming the youngest filmmaker to reach that stage of the festival. The daughter of a criminal defense attorney and a sports journalist, she grew up in the state of New Jersey and has maintained an active television career since childhood.
