Marilyn Pauline Novak is an American actress known for her performance as Madeline Elster / Judy Barton in the film Um corpo que cai (1958).
Kim Novak resisted pressure from Columbia Pictures, the studio to which she was under contract, to adopt the stage name Kit Marlowe, and only agreed to change Marilyn to Kim to avoid people confusing her with fellow actress Marilyn Monroe. In 1957, she went on strike in protest of the salary she was receiving at the time.
Novak decided to retire from film during the production of Liebestraum (1991), by Mike Figgis. Before that, she had appeared in television series such as Falcon Crest between 1986 and 1987 as a special guest. She currently raises horses and llamas in Oregon and California.
She has a star on the Calçada da Fama, located at 6336 Hollywood Boulevard.
