Lajos Theodor Gaspar Adolf Wohl was a Catholic author born in Germany and served as a notable astrologer for MI5 during the Second World War. Sixteen of his popular pre-war novels were the basis for films.

In May 1941, he was sent to America to contribute to astrological magazines and newspapers that at the time carried articles by astrologers sympathetic to Nazi Germany.

He returned to England in February 1942, claiming he had been promised a commission in the British Army. Sefton Delmer, a noted supplier of black propaganda, arranged a forged document certifying Wohl as a captain in the British Army, and he went on to wear the uniform (though he refrained when he realized the position was untenable). His principal value to Delmer was his contact with Karl Ernst Krafft, the German astrologer who worked in Berlin for Dr. Goebbels. He helped Delmer forge copies of Krafft's German magazine Zenit and other astrological journals dropped over Germany and "predict" the destruction of submarines. Delmer, however, continued to employ him until the end of the war and regarded his contribution as valuable.

During the war, Wohl became increasingly religious and had a successful post-war career writing novels about the history of the Roman Catholic Church and the lives of the saints.
