Patrick Juvet was a Swiss singer, songwriter and former model whose career spanned the French-speaking world and the disco era of the 1970s. Trained in piano from childhood, he moved to Paris in the early 1970s, where he found success with pop and variété songs and collaborated with figures of the French scene; he even wrote for Claude François and represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973. In the following years he broke through with hits such as Où sont les femmes? (1977) and especially I Love America (1978), the result of a partnership with producers Henri Belolo and Jacques Morali, which drew him into the international disco circuit and brought him chart success across several European countries. He recorded albums in French and English, frequented the Studio 54 scene and contributed soundtracks and various collaborations. The turn of the 1980s brought a decline in his visibility and personal problems that affected his career, followed by attempts at a comeback in subsequent decades through compilations, remixes and revival tour dates. He published memoirs in 2005 and continued to appear at events and tours devoted to disco nostalgia, maintaining his profile as an artist associated with the golden age of European disco.
