Alberto Santos Dumont was a Brazilian aeronaut, sportsman, and inventor.
Santos Dumont designed, built, and flew the first gasoline-powered airships.
This achievement is internationally recognized by his winning of the Deutsch Prize in 1901, when he flew his airship No. 6 around the Eiffel Tower, making him one of the most famous people in the world during the 20th century.
