Sarah Brightman is an English soprano singer and actress whose career spans musical theatre, recordings and international tours. She became widely known for playing Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, a role created by Andrew Lloyd Webber — to whom she was married — and whose soundtrack is among the best-selling albums in the genre. From that visibility, Brightman built a solo career that blends classical and pop repertoire, working with producers such as Frank Peterson to combine learned and contemporary elements.

Over the course of her career she has sold tens of millions of records and DVDs, earning hundreds of Gold and Platinum certifications in various countries. Among her major hits is the duet “Time to Say Goodbye (Con te Partirò)” with Andrea Bocelli, and the song “Amigos para Siempre,” performed at the opening of the Barcelona Olympic Games. Her repertoire includes songs in multiple languages, reflecting an international presence and crossover appeal.

Recognized for her vocal range and for moving between the theatrical stage and the recording studio, Brightman established a reputation as a performer who broadened the boundaries between classical music, musical theatre and pop, influencing contemporary productions and achieving wide global prominence.
