Tom Everett Scott is an American actor with a broad career in film, television and voice work. A graduate of Syracuse University, he rose to prominence in the 1990s starring in That Thing You Do! (1996), which introduced him to audiences in a leading role, and in subsequent comedies and dramas that established his presence in commercial productions. Over the following decades he alternated leading and supporting roles in films such as Boiler Room (2000), National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002) and La La Land (2016), and has lent his voice to family animations and children's franchises. His filmography shows versatility, moving between comedy, drama, action and titles aimed at younger viewers. On television and in short films he has appeared in series and independent projects, remaining active and broadening his repertoire.
