Akhil Akkineni is an Indian actor whose career is mainly associated with Telugu cinema. The son of actors Nagarjuna and Amala and the grandson of veteran Akkineni Nageswara Rao, he began as a child actor in Sisindri, earning early recognition, and later studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. As a leading man, he made his debut in the feature Akhil (2015) and won the Filmfare Telugu Award for Best Male Debut, although his initial box-office results were mixed.
Over the following decade he appeared in films such as Hello (2017) and Mr. Majnu (2019), and scored a commercial breakthrough with the romantic comedy Most Eligible Bachelor (2021). His career also includes a role in Manam (2014), a notable film that brought together three generations of the Akkineni family and received strong critical and audience response. By contrast, later projects such as Agent (2023) drew negative reviews and performed poorly at the box office.
Beyond acting, he has taken part in celebrity charity cricket tournaments, serving as captain and winning editions of the event. His career blends a family legacy, international training and a pattern of alternating commercial successes and failures, with prominence chiefly in the Telugu film circuit.
