Benjamin Pavard is a French footballer known for his defensive versatility, primarily playing as a centre-back and right-back. A product of Lille’s youth system, he rose to prominence at VfB Stuttgart, helping the club gain promotion to the Bundesliga and becoming an undisputed starter before transferring to Bayern Munich in 2019. At Bayern, Pavard established himself as an important part of the defense and contributed to major titles: multiple Bundesliga championships, the German Super Cup, the 2020 UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Known for his physical presence, good reading of the game and knack for scoring decisive goals, he produced standout performances in key European matches. With the French national team, he was part of the squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup, scoring a widely celebrated goal in the round of 16 against Argentina that was voted the tournament’s best. Regularly called up since 2017, he has also taken part in recent major tournaments, gaining significant international experience. In 2023 he moved to Internazionale and later went on loan to Olympique de Marseille. His record combines high-level club performance with a notable role in France’s World Cup-winning generation.
