Bob Woodward is an American investigative journalist and a central figure at The Washington Post, where he currently serves as assistant managing editor. He achieved international prominence when, alongside Carl Bernstein, he investigated the Watergate scandal—work that contributed to President Richard Nixon’s resignation and established Woodward as a leading figure in investigative political journalism.

A prolific author, he has published dozens of non-fiction books, many bestsellers addressing key episodes and institutions in U.S. politics and security: from All the President’s Men (Watergate) and The Final Days (Nixon’s fall) to studies of the Pentagon, the CIA, presidential administrations, and contemporary conflicts such as Bush at War and Plan of Attack. His books combine detailed reporting with access to high-level government sources.

Woodward’s body of work has shaped public understanding of political accountability and the operation of the executive branch, and has inspired film adaptations. He has received repeated professional recognition, including contributions that helped The Washington Post win Pulitzer Prizes.
