Christian Meyer is a drummer born in Milan who holds Swiss citizenship, best known for his long association with the group Elio e le Storie Tese. An official member of the band since 1990, he helped cement the group’s reputation for musical quality and for blending genres—from pop to jazz and rock—across more than three decades of stage and studio activity. Raised in Milan’s jazz environment and with professional experience in Germany plus collaborations with Brazilian and North American musicians, Meyer also devised his own percussive and experimental projects. In 1999 he created La Drummeria, a percussion orchestra of five drummers, and in 2002 he founded Trio Bobo to investigate afro, Latin and jazz-rock. Acknowledged by critics and colleagues, he received tributes and coverage in specialised publications and had a signature snare produced by Yamaha. He participated in international events that gathered prominent drummers and joined tribute projects and chamber ensembles, earning technical recognition within the Italian and European music circuit.
