Danielle Christine Fishel is an American actress and director whose career began in childhood and made her known for the role of Topanga Lawrence on the series Boy Meets World (1993–2000), a character she reprised in the sequel Girl Meets World (2014–2017). Topanga became a central figure in the show, cementing Fishel’s notoriety within 1990s teen television culture.
In addition to television work, Fishel appeared in independent and commercial films, including National Lampoon Presents Dorm Daze and Boiling Pot, a drama addressing racial tensions on college campuses. She has also worked as a host on entertainment and pop‑culture programs for networks such as MTV, Style Network, Fuse TV and MSN.
Over the course of her career she received recognition from teen media — including magazine covers and awards in the 1990s — and moved into roles beyond acting, such as directing and hosting. A graduate of California State University, Fullerton, her career blends early acting, prominence on teen television and later film and TV projects, maintaining a legacy among fans of youth television.
