Edgar Evans Cayce was an American psychic who was said to have channeled answers to questions dealing with spirituality, immortality, reincarnation, health, and other topics.

He also founded the non-profit organization Association for Research and Enlightenment and worked as a photographer.

Cayce was said to be one of the greatest clairvoyants in history. He was called by the American media "The Sleeping Prophet" (O Profeta Adormecido) because he predicted future events and prescribed medications with his eyes closed, reclining on a couch and with a stenographer taking notes, in an alleged state of "trance".
