Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, known as Felix Mendelssohn, was a German composer, pianist and conductor of the early Romantic period.
Some of his best-known works are the overture and incidental music to A Midsummer Night's Dream (which includes the famous Wedding March), the Violin Concerto, the two piano concertos, about 100 Lieder, the overture The Hebrides, the Italian and Scottish symphonies and the oratorios Paulus and Elias.
