Georgina Spelvin, the stage name of Shelley Bob Graham, is an American actress best known for the title role in the 1973 pornographic classic The Devil in Miss Jones, a landmark of the so‑called "Golden Age of Porn." Before moving into adult film, she trained as a dancer and worked as a stage performer, appearing in Broadway productions such as Cabaret, Guys and Dolls and Sweet Charity; later she also worked behind the scenes as a choreographer and lighting technician. During the 1970s she became one of the most recognizable figures in the porn industry, accruing more than 70 credits in adult films and receiving awards from the AFAA and the adult film community, as well as career recognition awards such as those given in 1991. She faced legal controversy over the distribution of obscene material, cases that were later dismissed. After leaving adult film in 1982, Spelvin made appearances in mainstream films and television series, worked in electronic publishing at the Los Angeles Times and published her autobiography The Devil Made Me Do It in 2008. Her legacy appears both in the history of erotic cinema and in debates about free expression and the place of adult performance in popular culture.
