Henk Feldmeijer (born Johannes Hendrik Veldmeijer) was a Dutch political leader linked to the National Socialist movement and a central figure in organizing and militarizing the pro-German wing of the far right in occupied Netherlands. Initially active in the movement’s propaganda, he became known for his adherence to völkisch currents and for promoting a racist, anti-Semitic view that sought to situate Dutch culture within a Germanic narrative. His skill as an orator and his contacts with the Nazi security apparatus brought him upward in the hierarchy and led to a decisive role in forming the Nederlandsche SS. During the occupation he performed paramilitary duties and served at the front alongside SS units, receiving German decorations. In 1943 he consolidated positions of power amid the struggle between the German SS and the Dutch collaborationist leadership, being seen by the occupation authorities as a useful agent to advance integration with the Reich. He is also associated with the creation and command of the punitive detachment known as SS‑Sonderkommando‑Feldmeijer, employed in reprisals against the resistance. His role and alignment with the SS marked him as a collaborator whose actions directly contributed to repression and the implementation of occupation policies during World War II.
