Íñigo Errejón Galván is a Spanish political scientist and political leader, trained and conducting research in Political Science at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He holds a doctorate with a dissertation on the first government of the MAS in Bolivia, has worked as a researcher at institutions such as the Fundación GIS XXI, serves as a board member of the Fundación CEPS, and is on the editorial board of the journal Viento Sur. He became nationally known by directing Podemos’s campaign for the European Parliament in 2014, which turned the party into a significant force in Spanish politics after winning more than one million votes. Over the years he held several positions on Podemos’s executive and was a central figure in the party’s internal disputes and in the political coordination of the Spanish left. In 2018 he was presented as a candidate for the 2019 municipal elections in Madrid and, the following year, ran with the Más Madrid platform led by Manuela Carmena, at which point he left Podemos’s organizational leadership and resigned his seat in the Congress. In 2024 he announced his departure from institutional politics, ending his mandates and public responsibilities.
