J. Alexander (Alexander Jenkins) is a recognized figure in fashion as a model, runway coach and television personality in the United States. He began his career after being discovered by Monique Pillard of Elite Model Management and worked with names such as Jean Paul Gaultier; he established himself as a runway trainer both backstage and on international stages, preparing top models like Naomi Campbell and Kimora Lee Simmons and collaborating on shows for houses such as Valentino, Chanel and Alexander McQueen. Mainstream visibility came with America’s Next Top Model, where he served as a coach from the early cycles — nicknamed “Miss J” — and later joined the judging panel; he also appeared in international versions of the format. He is known for his eccentric style and for emphasizing stage presence, posture and performance on the runway. Beyond television and runway work, J. Alexander published a guide on posture and self-confidence, launched a footwear line in 2015 and continues to work at events and as a fashion consultant globally. Open about his personal life, he is a prominent voice in the representation and professionalization of the runway coach role.
