Khéops (Éric Paul Mazel) is a French DJ and music producer, best known as the beatmaker for the hip hop group IAM. A member of the classic lineup that helped establish French rap from the late 1980s, Khéops took part directly in creating the arrangements and sonic textures that defined the collective’s key records. Throughout his career with IAM, he helped shape albums that contributed to the genre’s popularization in France, including several emblematic releases by the group in the 1990s and 2000s. His work as a DJ and selector also accompanied major concerts and parallel projects, extending his activity beyond strict hip hop boundaries.
