Mahmood (stage name of Alessandro Mahmoud) is an Italian singer and songwriter whose work blends pop, R&B and urban influences. He became a public figure after appearing on X Factor Italy and established his career by winning the Sanremo Music Festival in 2019 with “Soldi,” the song that took him to represent Italy at Eurovision 2019, where he finished second. His debut album, Gioventù bruciata, entered the Italian charts at number one.
Alongside his solo success, Mahmood has a significant role as a writer and collaborator: he co-wrote tracks for established artists and featured on notable pop and rap singles in Italy.
