Margo Rae Price is an American singer, songwriter, producer and author based in Nashville, known for bringing a raw, traditional sensibility to contemporary country. She debuted in 2016 with the acclaimed Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, recorded at Sun Studio, an album that introduced her internationally and earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Her voice and repertoire draw on influences such as Tom Petty, Janis Joplin, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton, and have been likened to classic figures within the genre. In the Nashville scene, Price has established herself as a central figure in the local community, alternating a solo career with work alongside the band The Pricetags. Her subsequent releases — including All American Made (2017), That’s How Rumors Get Started (2020) and Strays (2023) — increased her presence at festivals, on television and in the British market, where she achieved prominence on the country charts. Beyond music, she works as a producer and author; in 2022 she published her memoir Maybe We’ll Make It. She is frequently praised for lyrics that address life’s setbacks with frankness and humility, and she remains involved in rural-focused initiatives, having joined the board of Farm Aid.
