Maurizio Randazzo is a former Italian fencer who specialized in épée and whose career at a high level spanned more than two decades. Emerging in the junior ranks, he established himself internationally with multiple medals at world and university championships, in addition to club and national titles while primarily representing Fiamme Oro and Pro Vercelli. On the world circuit he particularly excelled in team events, winning world titles in 1989, 1990 and 1993, and competing at three Olympic Games. He was a key figure in Italy’s historic team épée victory in Atlanta in 1996 and in the successful title defense in Sydney in 2000, results that placed him among the country’s leading figures in the discipline. Alongside his international success, Randazzo won individual national titles in 1993 and 1996 and helped his clubs secure victories in the European Cup. After retiring as an athlete he pursued a career in law while maintaining ties to the fencing federation, serving in leadership roles and continuing to influence the Italian sporting community.
