Patrice Wymore was an American film, television and stage actress, active mainly in the 1950s and 1960s. Raised in a vaudeville family and trained in show business from childhood, she distinguished herself as a dancer and singer in Broadway musicals, receiving the Theatre World Award as a promising actress. Her move into film included roles alongside names such as Doris Day and Kirk Douglas, notably in Tea for Two (1950) and The Big Trees (1952). She became even better known through her marriage to actor Errol Flynn, with whom she spent part of her life between Europe and Jamaica; that relationship prompted a temporary retreat from film work while she cared for her husband and raised their child. After Flynn’s death in 1959 she returned to the stage and to movies, appearing in summer stock and in popular titles such as Ocean’s 11 (1960), as well as guesting on television series like Perry Mason. In retirement she left Hollywood and returned to live in Jamaica, where she ran local businesses, including a plantation she inherited from Flynn and a furniture workshop. She appeared at events honoring her husband’s memory and was remembered by family as a resilient figure, devoted both to rural work and to her artistic career.
