Peter Weller is an American actor and television director, known for memorable performances in films and series since the 1980s. He became widely known for playing the title role in RoboCop (1987) and its sequel, performances that earned him a Saturn Award nomination and established him as an effective leading figure in science fiction and action. He also appeared in films by directors such as David Cronenberg (Naked Lunch) and Woody Allen (Mighty Aphrodite), and joined the cast of franchises including Star Trek Into Darkness. On television, Weller has held guest and recurring roles in series such as 24, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy and Longmire, the latter of which he also directed. His directing work includes multiple episodes of Sons of Anarchy, Longmire, MacGyver and Magnum P.I., showing a successful shift from acting to directing.
