Pierre Vaultier is a French snowboarder who specialized in snowboard cross, active between 2005 and 2020. Known for his high-level consistency, he was a two-time Olympic champion (Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018) and won the world title in Sierra Nevada in 2017. In the World Cup he collected six crystal globes in his discipline over his career, standing out between 2008 and 2018.
His career was marked by recoveries from serious injuries — fractures and ligament tears that required multiple surgeries and long rehabilitation periods — but also by important World Cup victories and appearances at major events such as the X Games and four editions of the Olympic Games. He won the snowboard cross season ranking in 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
After multiple knee problems and an inflammatory arthritis diagnosis in 2019, he announced the end of his competitive career in December 2020. In the following years he worked as a ski and snowboard instructor at ESF Serre Chevalier and served as a consultant for Olympic broadcasts, maintaining a public presence connected to sport and mountain tourism.
