Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, known as Princess Charlotte of Wales, is a member of the British royal family and third in the line of succession to the throne, after her father, the Prince of Wales, and her older brother. A granddaughter of King Charles III, she has been a public figure since birth, receiving extensive media coverage and occasionally attending official engagements and state ceremonies alongside her family.
Baptized in the Anglican Church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, Charlotte's public appearances are managed by her parents, who seek to protect their children's privacy. She attended private schools in London and, after the family's move to Windsor, continued her education in Berkshire.
Throughout her childhood she has taken part in royal events such as Trooping the Colour and the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and she attended the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Her visibility has drawn attention not only because of her connection to the monarchy but also for her cultural impact: she is frequently cited in children’s style trends and in estimates of symbolic value to the British economy.
