Richard Dean Anderson is an American actor who became best known for the role of MacGyver in the eponymous TV series.
He also portrayed Brigadier General Jack O'Neill in the series Stargate SG-1, and appeared in the film Médicos, Loucos e Apaixonados, from 1982. He works on humanitarian causes and is a member of the marine life advocacy group Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. He lives in Malibu, California, with his family.
On December 30, 2011, he disappointed fans worldwide when his car broke down in Malibu and he was unable to fix it.
