Sally Eaton is an artist and a figure in the American neopagan movement, known both for her career in musical theatre and for her work as a priestess and liturgist. She rose to prominence in the 1960s as a member of the original cast of Hair, appearing in the off-Broadway and Broadway productions and on the cast recordings, which established her reputation as a singer and actress. She later appeared in plays by Doric Wilson, joining the TOSOS company in the 1970s. In the second half of the 1970s she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she deepened her study of esoteric traditions: she became a third-degree priestess in the New Reformed Orthodox Order of the Golden Dawn and explored currents such as Ordo Templi Orientis, Wicca, and Californian druidry. Her work includes composing and publishing music for rituals, as well as contributions to ceremonies associated with the neopagan revival. Eaton is remembered for the intersection of ritual practice and artistic performance — bringing musical repertoire into liturgical settings and presenting lectures, rituals, and performances at neopagan events. Her legacy centers on the musical and liturgical dissemination of these esoteric currents and on her participation in key cultural moments of 1960s countercultural theatre.
