Thomas Anders, stage name of Bernd Weidung, is a German singer, songwriter, producer and entrepreneur best known as the lead voice of the pop duo Modern Talking, an international phenomenon in the 1980s and 1990s formed in partnership with producer Dieter Bohlen. In the duo’s lineup, Bohlen wrote the songs and arranged the tracks while Anders was distinguished by his timbre and interpretation, which propelled hits such as "You're My Heart, You're My Soul."
Alongside his work with Modern Talking, Anders pursued a steady solo career, releasing albums in several languages and exploring styles from schlager to pop and euro disco; among his more recent records is Ewig mit Dir (2018). On his solo path he recorded collaborations and performed at international festivals, maintaining a presence in markets such as Latin America and Russia.
Beyond his artistic activity, Thomas has worked as a producer and music entrepreneur, and received academic recognition when he was appointed honorary professor by the Faculty of Music at the University of Kyiv. His legacy is tied both to the global image of European pop in the 1980s and 1990s and to a continued solo career that preserved his visibility across decades.
