Young Mazino, the stage name of Christopher Young Kim, is an American actor of Korean descent whose career blends theatrical training with varied life experiences prior to his rise on television. Trained in classical music and in acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Mazino performed on New York stages, including the off-Broadway production of Comfort Woman, and appeared in short films and television projects from 2013 onward. His public recognition grew with his portrayal of Paul Cho in the Netflix series Beef (2023), a role that earned him a 2023 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. The performance brought him prominence in the contemporary U.S. screen scene, highlighting his dramatic range and on-screen presence. Before committing fully to acting, he worked in a variety of jobs—from surf rescue technician to business intelligence analyst—which contributed a range of experiences outside the arts. Mazino also practices martial arts (taekwondo) and has musical training, qualities that add versatility to his work. When he joined the actors’ union he adopted a stage name, establishing a professional identity that has accompanied his recent ascent and the international visibility afforded by Beef.
