Choi Young-jae, known professionally as Youngjae or Ars, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer who rose to prominence as the main vocalist of the boy group GOT7. Selected through an audition at JYP Entertainment, he debuted with the group in 2014 and has since become known for his voice, songwriting and contributions to television-drama soundtracks.
Alongside his work with the group, Youngjae has developed a solo career as a lyricist and producer under the pseudonym Ars, collaborating with international artists and contributing to social campaigns, such as a youth suicide-prevention song released in 2018. He has also worked as a radio DJ and expanded into television and musical theatre, joining casts of projects including a Netflix sitcom and stage adaptations.
Committed to social and cultural causes, Youngjae has supported animal-protection initiatives through commercial partnerships and donations, and has been appointed to honorary positions and nominated for regional awards linked to culture and entertainment. His first full-length solo album, Do It, was released in November 2023, and he remains active in musical projects as well as in acting and media appearances.
