Ben Browder is an American actor, screenwriter and film director, best known for his roles in science fiction television. He rose to international prominence portraying astronaut John Crichton in the series Farscape (1999–2003) and its concluding miniseries Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, a role that earned him Saturn Awards for acting in 2000, 2001 and 2005.
After his exposure on Farscape, Browder established his television career by joining the cast of Stargate SG-1 as Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell, appearing in seasons 9 and 10 and in related feature films. His work also includes appearances in productions such as Doctor Who, Arrow, CSI and S.W.A.T., as well as film roles in which he played supporting characters in a variety of titles.
Also active in voice work and video games, Browder frequently moved among genre franchises, maintaining a steady presence in science fiction and action projects. Known for creating heroic leading characters and for collaborating on productions with strong appeal to genre fans, he left a legacy of central roles that defined early-2000s science fiction television.
