Caroline Quentin is an English actress and presenter whose career was established on British television from the 1990s onward. She became widely known for roles in hit series — Dorothy in Men Behaving Badly, Maddie Magellan in Jonathan Creek, and DCI Janine Lewis in Blue Murder — moving easily between television comedy and drama. Her versatility extended to the stage, with work in the musical Les Misérables and in productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, earning her a Laurence Olivier Award nomination.
Beyond acting, Quentin built a profile as a presenter and documentary maker, fronting programmes about house restoration, national parks and regional landscapes, and appearing in travel and lifestyle series. She has also taken part in advertising campaigns and reality shows, while maintaining a regular presence on radio and television.
Her career includes recognition in comedy awards and ventures into music; more recently she has focused on gardening projects, including a book about her experience with vegetable plots and gardens on her Devon property. She is active in public health as a patron of organisations connected to coeliac disease and serves as president of a body dedicated to the United Kingdom’s national parks.
