Cécilia Berder is a French sabre fencer known for a long career in both team and individual competition. Emerging from junior ranks, she developed at clubs in Quimper and Orléans under coaches such as Anne‑Lise Touya and Léonore Perrus, and quickly joined the international junior and senior circuits. Over her career she won multiple medals at World and European Championships, notably earning several runner‑up finishes and podiums between 2009 and 2017, including the individual silver at the World Championships in Moscow (2015). Her consistent presence near the top of the rankings placed her among the leading sabre fencers of the period. At the Olympic level, she was part of the French team that won the silver medal at the Tokyo Games (2021), alongside Manon Brunet, Charlotte Lembach and Sara Balzer. In recognition of her sporting achievements and representation, she was named a Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2021. Her legacy lies in sustained competitive excellence in team sabre and in promoting France’s presence in women’s sabre events.
