Derek Hough is an American professional dancer specializing in Latin and ballroom styles, who also works as a choreographer, actor, singer and television personality. He rose to national prominence as a professional on Dancing with the Stars (ABC), where between 2007 and 2016 he won the trophy six times—a series record—and received multiple Emmy nominations for choreography, winning four times.
Beyond television, Hough has worked in musical theatre, appearing in West End productions and the Radio City Music Hall spring show, and has acted in films such as Make Your Move and in the series Nashville. He has collaborated as a choreographer on high-profile projects, including the routine for Meryl Davis and Charlie White that helped secure their Olympic gold in figure skating at Sochi.
Trained beginning in London at the Italia Conti Academy, Hough has also performed on major tours alongside his sister Julianne, combining dance and singing. He later established himself as a judge on dance competition shows and hosted television projects, maintaining a notable presence in popular culture and the professional dance circuit.
