Diana Canova is an American actress, singer, theatre director, and teacher, best known for playing Corinne Tate on the TV series Soap (1977–1980). The daughter of actress-singer Judy Canova and musician Filberto Rivero, she graduated in Los Angeles and began her career with television appearances in the 1970s, notably in The First Nudie Musical (1975) and guest spots on popular contemporary shows.
Through the 1970s and 1980s she moved between roles in series and sitcoms — including I'm a Big Girl Now, Foot in the Door, and Throb — and had recurring appearances on Murder, She Wrote. Her versatility also encompassed televised musical performances, voice work for animation, and musical theatre, including the 1995 revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company.
Since the mid-1990s Canova has focused on voice work and arts education. She served as adjunct voice faculty at Manhattanville College (2015–2023) and directs school theatre programs in Connecticut, where she has led award-winning productions and improvisation projects. Married to producer Elliot Scheiner, she is recognized for combining stage and television experience with musical education.
