Edward Enninful is an editor and stylist born in Ghana, known for revitalizing and diversifying the contemporary fashion world. He began very young as fashion director of i-D magazine and, over the decades, worked as a contributing editor for publications such as Vogue Italia and American Vogue and as creative director of W, where he became known for provocative editorials and campaigns that boosted audience and editorial revenue. At Vogue Italia he led notable projects, including the celebrated "Black Issue," devoted exclusively to Black models, and editorials that broadened the conversation about representation and inclusion. In 2017 he became the first Black editor-in-chief of British Vogue, a role in which he repositioned the magazine for a global audience, increased digital traffic, attracted new advertisers, and brought diverse voices to covers and features. Enninful has also served as a creative consultant for major houses and brands, and has taken part in multimedia initiatives that connect fashion, music, and activism. His career is defined by promoting diversity in editorial settings and by his ability to transform traditional platforms into spaces that better reflect the contemporary cultural landscape.
