Eric Thomas Decker is a former professional American football player who spent eight seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver. A product of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football program, he also excelled in college baseball and was drafted by two MLB franchises before pursuing a career in football. Decker was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2010 draft and made his NFL debut on a team that already had a deep receiving corps.
While with the Broncos, Decker contributed on returns and on offense, becoming a more consistent factor as he received greater opportunities; he later spent three seasons with the New York Jets and finished his playing career with the Tennessee Titans. In college he posted high-season totals in receptions and yardage, earning recognition as one of the top collegiate wide receivers in 2009 before an injury curtailed his final season.
Known for his athletic versatility—he was a standout in three sports in high school—and for steady production with the Gophers, Decker built a career defined by reliable contributions to every team he joined. His legacy is that of a multi-talented player who rose to prominence in the NCAA and maintained a solid NFL career.
