Fabrice Santoro is a former French professional tennis player, born in French Polynesia, known for a rare and creative playing style. Over a 21-year career, he became known for using two hands on both forehand and backhand—a unconventional technique that earned him the nickname “The Magician” and wide respect from peers and fans. That tactical approach, combined with constant variations of pace and angle, made him a strategist capable of unsettling top opponents.
Santoro achieved notable results in singles and especially in doubles: he won six singles titles and captured two Grand Slam doubles crowns (the Australian Open in 2003 and 2004), as well as one mixed doubles title. He was also a member of the French Davis Cup team, helping win the 2001 edition and appearing in other finals.
His longevity on tour produced several ATP records, including appearances in 70 Grand Slam events across four decades and a very large number of matches played. After retiring from the main tour, he continued competing in seniors events and took up coaching, remaining active in the international tennis scene.
