Manu Lanvin (Emmanuel Lanvin) is a French singer‑songwriter and record producer whose work is rooted in blues and rock. Raised in an artistic environment—as the adopted son of actor Gérard Lanvin and a former disco singer—he gravitated toward music early, playing in youth bands before releasing his first albums between 2000 and 2007.
From 2007 he forged ties with North American blues artists, co‑writing and co‑producing Calvin Russell’s final album and expanding his international presence. His fourth album, Mauvais casting (2012), and an appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival proved decisive, leading to invitations from figures such as Quincy Jones and a tour of the United States.
In the following decades he released successive albums—including Son(s) of the Blues (2014), Blues, Booze and Rock n' Roll (2016) and Grand Casino (2019)—and earned recognitions such as a nomination for the 2017 Globe de Cristal. Collaborations with musicians like Taj Mahal and Popa Chubby, along with partnerships with French artists, have marked his career.
In 2021 he released Ici Bas in collaboration with his father, a project that combined his compositions with texts by Gérard Lanvin, highlighting his interest in social narratives and in sustaining the blues within the French scene.
