Miguel José Ferrer was an American actor and voice actor known for frequently portraying charismatic villains and characters with acerbic humor. The son of actor José Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney, he built a solid career in film, television and video games, alternating memorable roles such as executive Bob Morton in RoboCop (1987) and forensic specialist Albert Rosenfield in Twin Peaks, a role he reprised in the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s Ferrer appeared in a series of prominent productions—from Stephen King suspense to the comedy Hot Shots! Part Deux—and at one point appeared simultaneously in three prime-time series, an uncommon feat at the time. In the early 2000s he played Dr. Garret Macy on Crossing Jordan and later joined the regular cast of NCIS: Los Angeles as Agent Owen Granger. In addition to on-screen work, he had a career as a voice actor in games such as Halo 2 and BioShock, and lent his voice to animated films and series. He also worked as a comics writer and remained active musically with the band The Jenerators. Ferrer died in 2017, leaving a legacy of versatility across dramatic, comic and antagonistic roles.
