Pamela Mason, born Pamela Helene Ostrer and also professionally known as Pamela Kellino, was an English actress who expanded her work into screenwriting, producing, and literature. The daughter of an industrialist connected to the film industry, she began working in British cinema in the 1930s–1950s, collaborating with her husband, actor James Mason, and with director Roy Kellino. Among her most notable films are I Met a Murderer, The Upturned Glass and Charade, in which she both acted and co-wrote the screenplays.
Beyond film, Pamela maintained a presence on television — appearing on programs and hosting talk shows — and on stage, making her Broadway debut in 1947. She published novels and non-fiction works, including books on pets and reflections on marriage and behavior, producing a body of writing that ranged from fiction to social commentary.
Outside the arts, she engaged in business as the controlling shareholder of a textile firm inherited from her family, and managed a mail-order business and property holdings in the United States. Her public life was also marked by a high‑value divorce and by her role as a hostess in Hollywood social circles, where she lived until the end of her life.
