Princess Madeleine of Sweden is a member of the royal family and the youngest daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. She earned a degree in Art History, Ethnology and Modern History from Stockholm University and spent part of her career with child-focused organizations, having worked for UNICEF and the World Childhood Foundation, which was founded by her mother. Married since 2013 to banker Christopher O'Neill, with whom she has three children, Madeleine gained international experience living for several years in New York and Miami. As a public figure she has carried out ceremonial and representative duties at national events and cultural initiatives, and she maintains an interest in equestrian activities and in supporting young riders through a scholarship in her duchy. In 2019 she published a children’s book under the pseudonym Madeleine Bernadotte. In a 2019 royal statement she began to focus her schedule on non-governmental organizations and foundations with which she already cooperated, undertaking Head of State engagements only when requested by the king. Her career combines public visibility, social work focused on children and cultural involvement.
