Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy is a member of the former Italian royal family, the daughter of King Humbert II and Marie-José of Belgium. Exiled with her family after the monarchy ended in 1946, she graduated in languages and attended the École du Louvre, and also taught at the International School of Geneva. Throughout her life she has maintained a public presence connected to the memory and historical patrimony of the House of Savoy. Since her father's death, she has led, with her brother's approval, the Humbert II and Marie-José of Savoy Foundation, dedicated to conserving the dynasty's archives and legacies. Her public work includes inaugurations and cultural donations — including works for the parish church of Èze — which have reinforced her ties to territories historically linked to Savoy, such as Nice and the county of Èze. The princess has also been visible in moments of politics and protocol: she received the Grand Cross of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus and was a symbolic candidate in an Italian presidential ballot in 2006. By remaining active in cultural and philanthropic initiatives, she upholds a legacy focused on preserving the history and possessions of the House of Savoy.
