Sergio Endrigo was an Italian singer and songwriter. Born in Pula, in present-day Croatia, he won the 1968 Sanremo Music Festival as a songwriter with the song "Canzone per te", performed by him and also by guest Roberto Carlos. In the same year, he represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Marianne". "Io che Amo Solo Te", recorded in 1962, is his most famous song, having been covered many times. During his career he worked with writers and poets such as Gianni Rodari, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vinicius de Moraes and Giuseppe Ungaretti, and with musicians such as Toquinho and Luis Bacalov.
