Tom Bergeron is an American television host, comedian, and writer, known for his long-running work leading entertainment and competition shows. He became a national figure hosting America's Funniest Home Videos (2001–2015) and, from 2005, Dancing with the Stars, ABC’s high-rating format that brought him international recognition. Before that he hosted Hollywood Squares and served as a guest host on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, establishing himself on the daytime and studio-show circuit.
His career began in radio and local television in New England, working at Boston stations and on regional programs that gave him the visibility to move to cable and the major networks. In the mid-1990s he joined the Fox After Breakfast team and appeared as a guest host on Good Morning America.
In addition to hosting, Bergeron worked as a producer on some projects and published a memoir offering advice on life in Hollywood. He received Emmy awards during his career and made occasional guest acting appearances on television series. His work is characterized by a lineup of popular programs and a witty, charismatic presenting style.
