Xaviera Hollander is a writer, sex entrepreneur and public figure of Dutch origin, known for turning her experience as an escort and madam into a publishing and cultural phenomenon. She rose to fame with the autobiography The Happy Hooker: My Own Story (1971), which established her internationally and helped bring public attention to debates about prostitution, sexuality and the sex industry in the decades that followed.
