Antonio Rossi is an internationally prominent Italian canoeist best known for his career in sprint kayak. He competed at five Olympic Games, winning five medals in total — including three golds between Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 — and amassed a string of podium finishes that placed him among Italy’s most successful athletes in the sport in the 1990s and 2000s.
Beyond his Olympic success, Rossi performed strongly at World Championships, reaching the podium at several editions through the 1990s and early 2000s, including gold in the K2 1,000 m in 1997. His versatility is evident across K1, K2 and K4 events, where he contributed to both team and individual results that cemented his career.
Widely recognized in Italy, he received a public honor with a plaque on the Italian sport Walk of Fame at the Foro Italico in Rome, and was chosen to lead the Italian delegation into the Beijing Olympics carrying the national flag, underscoring his prestige and institutional leadership.
